Housing (Scotland) Act 2014

Whilst the Housing (Scotland) Act 2014 received Royal Assent on 1 August 2014, some of the key tenancy management provisions in the 2014 Act will come into force during 2019.

A programme for enforcement has now been published by the Scottish Government:

1 May 2019 will see changes to: the allocation of social housing; short Scottish secure tenancies; criminal conviction evictions; and recovery of possession of properties designed for special needs.

1 November 2019 will see changes to: Assignations, Sub-letting, joint tenancies and Succession.

It is a requirement that all Landlords write to their own tenants prior to the 1st November 2018 to notify them of the changes.

All FHA tenants have been notified.
